The following was taken from the Yorkshire Regiment website

Died of wounds 11 May 1917. Born at Eaglescliffe and enlisted at Stockton while living at Yarm. Etaples Mil Cem, France

Yarm1914 believe Benjamin was born in 1890 and lived with his parents George, a salmon fish dealer and mother Ruth in the Blue Bell shop with his sisters Charlotte J aged 11, Ellene A aged 9 and brother George J aged 2.In 1901 the family had moved to Yarm Road in Eaglescliffe by which time his sisters had moved out to be replaced by two younger sisters Ruth B and Alice May, plus a brother Peter S. In 1910 he had married Hannah Mary Turnbull and was living in Laburnum Rd in Preston On Tees and was a fish hawker.
